The Opportunity:
Neato is on the hunt for an extraordinary eCommerce Copywriter to join our dynamic, creative and marketing team. This individual will be tasked with crafting compelling narratives for our partnered brands, helping to boost their visibility and sales on Amazon. The Copywriter will work under the direction and in tandem with our Creative Director and Director of Brand Marketing, playing a critical role in shaping the voice and image of a diverse range of brands.

You are a master wordsmith, capable of turning marketing briefs into engaging and persuasive content that truly resonates with consumers. You're quick to adapt your writing style to suit different brands, always finding the right tone to tell their unique stories. You're not just a writer, but a strategic thinker. While you have an understanding of SEO, you understand that your primary role is to captivate and convince, not just to meet SEO criteria. You have an excellent understanding of consumer psychology and are adept at creating content that triggers the desired response. With your keen eye for detail, you can transform complex information into easily digestible and enticing content through words.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Keep abreast of e-commerce and copywriting trends, Amazon's evolving platform, and consumer behavior insights to ensure our brand narratives stay relevant and effective.
  • Product Knowledge: Gain an in-depth understanding of the products you’re writing about. You’ll become an expert in each product's features, benefits, and target customers to effectively convey its unique selling proposition.
  • Copywriting: Create engaging and persuasive copy for various e-commerce content such as product detail pages, images and infographics, video scripts, titles, bullet points, product descriptions, and ad copy. You'll transform complex product information into digestible, compelling narratives that boost product appeal and sales.
  • Editing: Proofread and edit your own work for grammatical, factual, and stylistic accuracy. You’ll demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, ensuring every piece of copy is polished and error-free.
  • SEO Implementation: While your focus will be on captivating and persuasive writing, you'll also incorporate SEO best practices to optimize content visibility and reach on Amazon's platform while taking a sales first/SEO second approach
  • Brand Voice Consistency: Maintain a consistent brand voice and image across all written content. You'll act as a brand steward, ensuring all content aligns with the brand’s established tone, style, and messaging guidelines pushing the envelope beyond what the brands have to offer.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members, including designers, marketers, and product managers, to ensure copy complements and enhances other elements of our brand presentations.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and report on the performance of your copy. You’ll use data to understand what works and what doesn't, making adjustments to your approach as necessary to improve results.
  • Brand Research: Conduct thorough research on our partner brands to fully understand their history, ethos, and market positioning. This will allow you to create tailored, authentic content that resonates with each brand’s specific audience.
  • Interpret Creative Briefs: Work closely with our Creative Director and Director of Brand Marketing to understand and execute creative briefs. You'll distill these briefs into concise, powerful copy that effectively communicates brand values and product benefits.
Requirements:
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt your writing style to different brands and audiences, rapidly switching between different brand voices and product categories.
  • Experience: 3+ years of relevant copywriting experience, preferably within the e-commerce or retail sectors. Your experience should have honed your ability to craft persuasive, engaging copy that drives consumer action.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with team members from various departments and brand stakeholders, interpreting their input into your writing and explaining your copy decisions.
  • Familiarity with Amazon's Platform: Experience with or understanding of Amazon's platform and its specific copy requirements and opportunities is a plus but not required.
  • SEO Knowledge: While this role is focused on copywriting rather than SEO, a basic understanding of SEO principles and how they can be applied to copy is necessary.
  • Consumer Understanding: An understanding of consumer psychology and how to craft copy that resonates with specific target audiences, driving them
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail in both your writing and editing processes. You should have a keen eye for spotting errors and inconsistencies.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Portfolio: Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in creating compelling, sales-driven copy. Your portfolio should showcase your ability to write for various brands, demonstrating a range of tones and styles.
  • Project Management Skills: Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
