Job Description

As our Part-time Controller, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of our organization, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and providing accurate financial information to support decision making. You will work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting, manage cash flow and forecasting, and participate in the annual audit process. Your expertise in accounting for government contracts will be essential in preparing and submitting contract invoices, reports, and ensuring compliance with government regulations and accounting standards.

Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced part-time Controller with expertise in accounting for government contracts. This position will play a key role in managing the financial operations of our organization, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and providing accurate financial information to support decision making.


Responsibilities


  • Assist in budget preparation and monitoring
  • Manage cash flow and forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and accounting standards for government contracts
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial information and reporting
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support decision making
  • Prepare and submit government contract invoices and reports
  • Implement and maintain financial policies and procedures
  • Participate in the annual audit process
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the organization's accounting operations
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and financial statements


Requirements


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting for government contracts
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks or similar
  • Strong understanding of government contract regulations and compliance requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills


This is a part-time position, with the potential for flexible scheduling. This position will be hybrid with time split between our headquarters in New Orleans, Louisiana and remote work.
