Job Description
Description Of Position


  • Caterer serves meals to LCMH system in a sanitary, efficient, and timely manner and provides additional services as needed along the prescribed lines of action dictated by Catering Lead and Executive Chef.


Responsibilities And Duties


  • Actively participates in unit/hospital cost saving and productivity initiatives.
  • Encourages and support employees and ensures completion of delegated tasks.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as needed and assigned.
  • Prepares, monitors, and provides food by following menu.
  • Completes product to meet standard.
  • Wash, sanitize, and dry areas to meet catering standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Prepares meals according to Catering calendar.
  • Monitors and assists in meal production, procurement and delivery.
  • Oversee the daily functions of the assigned shift.
  • Is knowledgeable of and assists with implementation of policies and procedures, protocols, standards and guidelines as regards to tasks.
  • Use resources efficiently.

Education And Work Experience


  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusion.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries and complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Ability to remain calm in situations of discord and to reach compromise between diverse positions.
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Basic computer skills in excel and word.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management, staff and public groups as required.
  • Two (2) years of management experience.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and recall documents.
  • Supervises all employees in the specified area of responsibility.
  • One (1) year of healthcare food service experience working knowledge of special diet modifications.


Physical Demands/Work Environment


  • Work involves a variety of physical activities including sitting, standing and walking.

  • Must have normal hearing or utilize adaptive hearing devices.
  • May require off-site travel.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time and utilize a PC.
  • Bending stooping and lifting are minimal.
