Controller (Local Candidates) Jobs

Responsibilities Include:

• With the assistance of the company’s outside accounting firm ensure adequate tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes
• This position will join a two-person finance team and report to the CFO. The position be an integral part of helping our company grow and be successful
• Understand and communicate status of key indirect cost accounting pools which are essential to pricing RFPs
• The Controller will be responsible for the Accounting Functions, Financial Planning & Analysis, and new business proposal pricing
• Identify, construct and complete financial analysis on profitability enhancing opportunities and strategies, proposed changes to internal processes and new business strategies
• Lead the quarterly forecasts and budget updates; develop comprehensive, budgetary, operational and financial metrics and assumptions
• This position will utilize analytical, business, and leadership skills to for all financial and operational metric reporting and planning for the company
• Report financial information to senior management
• Develop and present monthly operational and financial reviews to corporate and business unit management
• Be prepared to step into Vice President - CFO role within 6 years.
• Maintain Company bank accounts.
• Direct all new business financial analyses in conjunction with the business proposal/RFP review process; generating comprehensive financial projections, determining pricing and profitability, assessing competitive and strategic issues, and preparing summary presentations for senior management

• Experience with JAMIS Software or other ERP
• Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with upper management and subordinates
• At least 6 years accounting experience at the senior manager level
• Knowledge of general accounting essential
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, solve problems, make recommendations, and draw valid conclusions in a timely and accurate manner
• Must demonstrate sound judgment and reasoning skills
• Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously
• Strong PC skills including Excel required
• Government contract experience is required
• Government Cost Accounting and pricing experience
• Must possess strong financial and analytical skills including experience creating complex financial models and efficiently communicating results through the use of supporting tables, graphs, and presentation quality material
• Ability to communicate well to internal and external customers, verbally and in writing
• BS Degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA/CPA preferred
