This is a great opportunity to build and lead a large accounting team in a rapidly growing, dynamic business. You'll start doing meaningful work from day 1, playing a key role in our ERP implementation, accelerating our close process, instilling financial governance and controls and working on M&A activities/integration. As the Datavant Controller…

You Will:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
  • Play a key role in our ERP implementation
  • Provide financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
  • Oversee the close and consolidations processes; ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Implement strong governance and internal controls
  • Lead the operations of the Accounting Department which includes 30+ individuals across the GL team, the revenue recognition team, the close and financial reporting team, the technical accounting team and the equity team
  • Work with external auditors and provide needed information for the annual audit
  • Develop, hire and retain the best accounting talent
  • Drive M&A integration efforts
  • Maintain and document company's accounting policies and procedures

What You Will Bring to the Table:

  • Collaborative working style with colleagues across the organization while confident to make and own critical decisions
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Ten years or more of related accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, operations and internal controls
  • Experience scaling operational workflows and aligning processes for a global team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Proficient in accounting software to drive efficiencies
  • Meticulous attention to detail, highly organized and transparent
  • Certified Public Accountant designation
  • Excellent leadership skills - able to develop talent, build and drive strategy

Bonus Points if:

  • Experience in leading an accounting team in a high growth company
  • Saas and/or healthcare experience
  • Public company experience
  • Public Accounting experience

Our compensation philosophy is to be externally competitive, internally fair, and not win or lose on compensation. Salary ranges are developed with the support of benchmarks (competitive San Francisco rates for US-based roles) and industry best practices.
