Job Description

Reports to the Chief Financial Officer. Significant potential for upward growth within the organization. Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing the Finance department providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist management, senior leadership and other users in making financial decisions. Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls. Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.


Responsibilities include:

  • Must exhibit the Dermatology Partners Core Values of Integrity, Compassion, Expertise, Dedication and Teamwork in every task and communication with stakeholders within and outside of Dermatology Partners
  • Design, maintains and provides oversight of the organization’s financial internal control structure
  • Maintain and enhancs competency through in-services, staff meetings and educational programs
  • Attend corporate meetings (Leadership and Managers Meetings) as needed either in person on via conference call
  • Design and establish financial reports by dimension (Location/Provider/Department/Revenue Line of Business) in the new financial reporting software.
  • Ad hoc analyses and projects
  • Responsible for building, selection, training and evaluation of the future growing Finance staff
  • Provide oversight of the preparation of and analytical review of financial and statistical budgets
  • Review and authorize disbursements and expenditures
  • Continue existing process of transitioning to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and future implementation of supplemental Jet reporting.
  • Provide oversight of all budget reporting, both operating and capital, including comparing actual results to budget standards
  • Complete analytical review and follow up with department heads regarding all material budget variances
  • Craft recurring internal reporting package(s) to communicate operating performance to firm leadership
  • Create and prepare all analytical reviews and selected audit schedules
  • Prepare the company for future external financial statement audits
  • Develop/enhance month-end close process and provide monthly financials to executive leadership
  • Design, maintain and provide oversight of the accounting department policies and procedures to ensure the safeguarding of assets and accurate financial reporting
  • Work collaboratively with others toward improving organizational performance and supports goals and objectives of the organization

Education/Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years relevant experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position
  • Healthcare experience a plus
  • Experience with integrating corporate general ledger system(s)
  • CPA and/or Advanced degree a plus
