Job Description

Wunderlich-Malec Services is 100% employee-owned and one of the largest and most well-established (41 years) engineering companies in the United States - we have a Control Panel Test Engineer position available in our Eden Prairie, MN location. This position will be responsible for testing control panels, forcing I/O, and entering parameters in VFDs, among other related duties.

We are looking for candidates who understand analog circuits, and electricity, and can troubleshoot. UL knowledge is preferred but not required. This person will be working with electrical voltage up to 480 VAC and participate in customer factory acceptance testing when performed onsite at Wunderlich-Malec.

Responsibilities

  • Use tools such as a voltmeter and process calibrator
  • Write test programs for forcing I/O
  • Testing analog circuits
  • Follow WM safety protocols
  • Testing control panels for accuracy per provided drawings
  • Follow WM test procedures as written
  • Knowledge of UL 508A standards is preferable but not required
  • Enter parameters into VFDs
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits, wiring, and functionality of devices
  • Work with electrical voltage up to 480 volts VAC

Minimum Requirements

Education

High School diploma or H.S. equivalent

Experience

  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft suite – word, excel, Teams
  • Knowledgeable in Allen-Bradley software such as RSLinx, RSLogix preferable but not required
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits both AC and DC, 3-phase and single-phase
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • History of longevity with prior employer/s
  • 2 years of experience testing panels
  • Prior panel building is preferred but not required

Physical Demands of Position

Seeing, color perception, hearing, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving, climbing, ability to mount and dismount equipment, pushing and pulling. Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand on feet for long periods of time with standard breaks and lunch as required.

Working Environment

Equipment assembly environment; cement floor with floor padding provided as needed. May be dust in the area from the type of equipment environment setting. On-site environment.
