Job Title: On-Site Hatha Yoga Contractor for Mental Health Treatment

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hatha Yoga Contractor in North Chicago, IL. As an adjunct to psychotherapy and medication management, the contractor will provide specialized Yoga Therapy Sessions tailored to the needs of patients dealing with depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance abuse, and other mental health disorders. The sessions will be inclusive and accessible to all patients, regardless of any physical limitations.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
• Provide Yoga Therapy specifically designed for Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) beneficiaries.
• Conduct 11 hours per week of Hatha-based Yoga Therapy sessions for 52 weeks.
• Create an inclusive and welcoming environment for patients receiving treatment.
• Keep accurate records and progress reports on patients' participation and improvements.
• Offer gentle mindful movement, breathing techniques, relaxation techniques, mindful meditation, and stress-reduction techniques.

Qualifications: The successful candidate for this position must meet the following qualifications:

• A minimum of 2000 hours of teaching experience specifically to individuals with diagnoses such as Chronic Pain, Traumatic Brain Injury, Anxiety, Insomnia, Depression, Drug Addictions, or Anger issues.
• Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience specifically to Mental Health Inpatients in a Veterans Affairs Hospital setting.
• Certified yoga therapist with graduation from a 200-hour yoga training program from a recognized Registered Yoga School (RYS®).
• Certification in the area of Chronic Pain, Trauma, and Mental Health.

Contract Details: This is a 52-week contract, and the contractor shall be responsible for providing all labor, materials, transportation, and supervision necessary to conduct Hatha-based Yoga Therapy sessions. The sessions will be conducted on-site in North Chicago, IL.
