Purpose of Role

Weir ESCO’s Continuous Improvement Manager provides leadership to drive continuous improvement into our DNA. This role will focus on guiding initiative success through process management, helping all employees become systematic problem solvers, and developing our next tier of CI leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Relationships: Build relationships with those you support by becoming a valued resource and leader of effective processes improvement. Mentor and train others in continuous improvement roles to build local and regional resource capability
  • Process Management: Support a process management approach to meeting objectives for cost, safety, and energy. Provide leadership and facilitation for cross-functional process improvement – ensuring a systematic approach is followed
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
  • Learning: Keep current on innovative process improvement practices and personal development. Recognize best practices and achievements, promoting organizational learning

Job Knowledge / Education And Qualifications

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 30% (primarily domestic, some international)
  • Project management experience is beneficial, but not required
  • Proven ability to facilitate and influence in a virtual environment
  • Experience leading lean practices in both operations and administrative functions
  • Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Bachelor’s degree and experience driving change through development, implementation, and ongoing coaching of Lean practices

  • Presentation Skills: Is effective in a variety of formal presentation settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, with peers, direct reports, and bosses; is effective both inside and outside the organization, on both cool data and hot and controversial topics; commands attention and can manage group processes during the presentation; can change tactics midstream when something isn’t working.
  • Creativity: Comes up with a lot of new and unique ideas; easily makes connections among previously unrelated notions; is original and value-added in brainstorming settings.
