ABOUT THE JOB:

At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We have an opening for a Continuous Improvement Manager in our West Jordan, Utah yogurt manufacturing facility. In this role, you will lead the continuous improvement program and be responsible for driving a culture of continuous improvement and driving operational excellence to all areas of the site. This includes defining the CI strategy for the site in execution of Danone’s CI program (DaMaWay), coaching site leaders in execution of CI programs, and being a hands-on servant leader to enable change management in the plant. The CI Manager must be a change catalyst with strong communication and time management skills and an ability to quickly flow between strategic thinking and tactical coaching and execution. The CI manager is responsible to lead the development of the hourly professionals to embrace the DaMaWay culture.


In this role, you will:

  • Own and manage the Focused Improvement Pillar in the site defining the problem-solving capability, tools, and strategy across the site as well as coaching the execution and implementing countermeasures and driving action plans to resolution
  • Develop and prepare metrics and reports to drive action and change through the CI program
  • Identify key opportunities for process improvement and partners with process owners to lead activities to deliver sustainable and repeatable change and improve business results
  • Manage the site productivity process and pipeline to deliver savings vs. commitment
  • Identify and leverage best practices across the plant and shares broadly across the network CI team to improve standards and guidelines for company DaMaWay program implementation
  • Coach and mentor Process engineers across the site
  • Be a partner, coach, and mentor to site pillar leaders and teams in EHS, Quality, Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, Organization, and Education & Training
  • Coach and facilitate the site strategic planning process (glidepath) in collaboration with the site leadership team and ensures consistent adherence to the process including monthly scorecard reporting, data accuracy owner (CUTE), and gap analysis
  • Own the losses initiative by conducting regular audits and supporting initiatives across the plant
  • Facilitate the development of action plans to variances as identified through the audit process
  • Own and manage the overall CI Program in the site ensuring effectiveness of change management, adoption of systems and culture, integration across pillars and functions, and delivery of all result areas
  • Support and at times leads problem-solving efforts to improve safety, quality, delivery and eliminate waste/cost at the local level
  • Conduct regular and periodic audits and health checks of the Site CI Program and each pillar
  • Acts as an internal partner for the site to lead, define, develop, and coach continuous improvement activities to drive improvement in all result areas and KPI’s to meet the business needs

About you

ABOUT YOU:

  • You have Knowledge of principles and methods for process improvement and experience leading problem solving and process improvement efforts, required
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or other related field with at least five years related experience in operations or process improvement within a manufacturing environment, required. Equivalent work experience and training will be considered in lieu of a degree. A high school diploma or GED is required. Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • You have knowledge of CI / Lean tools and TPM experience and knowledge with practical application of AM, PM, FI, Education & Training systems and tools
  • You have experience and ability to influence others without positional authority
  • You have knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
  • You have excellent multi-tasking, organization, and time-management skills
  • You have strong project and program management skills, as well as facilitation and communication skills for problem solving events, productivity ideation, etc.
