Job Description

Continuous Improvement Manager


We are a precision engineering, manufacturing, and machining company dedicated to producing high-performance, mission-critical components and solutions for the energy, defense, aerospace, and heavy industrial industries.


What You Will Do:

  • Work closely with the Executive leadership team to understand and improve the business.
  • Facilitate management team to identify and develop annual improvement plans consistent with and in support of the strategic plan and business operating plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Facilitate the prioritization, selection, scope, and planning of specific improvement projects.
  • Foster the professional development of facility leads, supervisors, and managers by being a leading, proactive change agent that drives a CI culture.
  • Identify goals for CI events and potential quantifiable savings.
  • Develop training materials and effectively deliver those materials across the organization at all levels to ensure employees throughout the facility are trained in CI concepts and philosophy.
  • Resolve implementation issues, create and manage implementation communication, processes, and ensure consistency of implemented processes and programs throughout facility.
  • Develop and implement visual control to measure improvement and monitor processes.
  • Facilitate a Lean Management System across all facilities, while coaching and mentor the leaders on the tools and disciplines
  • Maintain Standard Work instructions, SOPs and 5S checklists.


Position Details:

  • Reports directly to the Vice President of Operations
  • Leading the continuous improvement and maintenance activities and initiatives of the operating company headquarters in Houston, TX and 3 manufacturing facilities located in TX and WI.
  • We offer a competitive annual salary and eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.
  • This is a salaried exempt position.
  • This position requires full-time onsite management.
  • Candidate must reside in the DFW, TX or surrounding areas.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Sense of urgency and self-motivation; ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Advanced computer literacy with ability to learn new computer software programs.
  • Must have proven employee development and team building skills.
  • At least 5 years of experience related to continuous improvement or similar project management.
  • Immigration sponsorship not offered for this role.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • At least 5 years working in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 3 years leading Kaizen events and activities.
  • At least 2 years training Lean principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to motivate employees to achieve results.
  • Must be results oriented with a people development affinity; proactive in attacking challenges and confident in setting and achieving stretch goals.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory/management capacity.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to effectively present to all levels in the organization
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Operations or Business Management.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification Black Belt


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or MBA.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification Master Black Belt.
  • At least 5 years training Lean principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive training and ability to teach Lean Manufacturing principles.
