Annual Salary, $77,016.31 + Full State Employee Benefits

Minimum Qualifications:


A Master’s degree, and 4 years of professional managerial or administrative experience* in public health administration, social work, guidance and counseling, intellectual disability, probation and parole, public administration or personnel administration;


or


an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting 1 additional year of qualifying experience for each year of the required education.


  • Professional experience in the fields listed must have been the primary job responsibility to be considered as qualifying. Incidental performance of professional work in any area (s) shall not be considered.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Lead and conduct process improvement projects for all DHS divisions; identify the root causes of problems and design solutions to specifically address problems; work independently with divisions to lead this effort for sustained innovation and improvement; provide hands on leadership to move the agency further toward a culture of innovation and continuous improvement; utilize best practices; prioritize projects based upon the strategic needs of the agency; and serve as a subject matter expert, mentor or team member for other process improvement projects in the agency.
  • Ability to work on a diverse team and directly with people from diverse backgrounds specifically racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and disabilities.
  • Provide leadership for, and management of, a team of Business Process Engineers addressing the business process improvement needs of the agency; build innovation capacity within the team and the agency; work with Human Resource Management to equip the agency to continue to build capacity for process improvement and innovation; responsible for directing work within the organization and providing direct quality oversight for all projects.
  • Manage the development, writing and monitoring efforts of strategic planning within the organization; assist divisions with the creation of objectives, action plans and important results; work with the Innovation Services research team to design appropriate evaluation plans and measures to track strategic plan progress and outcomes; responsible for tracking strategic plan progress; report generation leadership oversight; serve as change management agent to monitor and guide agency culture and DHS employee/stakeholder perception.
