This position is hybrid.

NYC Salary range: $50,700 - $60,000 annually; compensation is commensurate to geographic location.

Responsible for processing and maintaining loan applications, and ensuring compliance with applicable Federal, State and NCUA rules, regulations and laws. This includes requesting all supporting documentation, and working with members and staff to ensure the timely processing and maintenance of consumer loan applications. Requires communication with the Consumer Lending staff and Member Service Representatives while upholding UNFCU’s commitment to exceptional member service and representing UNFCU in a positive and professional manner.
What you'll do:

Regardless of seniority or role, uphold UNFCU’s mission, core values, and guiding principles by providing an exceptional service experience to colleagues and members alike through consistent demonstration of our service excellence behaviors.
  • Post/Fund loans and disburse funds by verifying figures including processing of deferred fees and costs.
  • Perform loan maintenance in core banking system based on loan types.
  • Completion of post-booking audits assigned.
  • Follow-up on incomplete pending contracts to ensure they are processed and finalized in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Create loan documents for both electronic delivery and in-person signing.
  • File all related documentation in appropriate information systems, and make decisions following all legal and credit union guidelines.
  • Ensure loan documents are complete and accurate according to policies, requirements and regulations, including but not limited to checking for proper signatures, dates and other relevant data.
  • Communicate with Global Payment Operations or US Branches to ensure loan disbursements sent by wire or check are complete, accurate, and processed timely.
  • Maintain continuous follow-up activity with Member Service Representative and/or members by telephone and email on loan applications.
  • Resolve disputes between UNFCU and members using knowledge of loan process and legal requirements.
  • Take accountability to manage one’s own workload to ensure superior member experience and meet service level agreements.
What we're seeking:
  • Bilingual (English/French or English/Spanish) skills are a plus
  • 2 years of experience in a financial institution or lending environment
  • Ability to understand lending regulations (i.e. Regulations Z, B, TILA, MLA)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Dedicated to providing superior member and internal service
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail
