Position is remote for candidates within driving distance of the Columbus, Ohio offices.
Are you passionate about content marketing? Do you have the ability to breakdown technical topics into simple and digestible pieces of content? We are looking for a person who's excited to develop financial thought leadership content that helps financial professionals prepare and protect their clients' retirements! We focused on client needs, financial professional challenges and opportunities to drive significant engagement with our brand as a financial services provider.
Specific Duties Will Include
  • Accountability for the National Council on Aging (NCOA) co-branded efforts
  • Ownership of the pillar and program content on Nationwidefinancial.com
  • Working with subject matter experts and business partners to create technical and planner minded content.
  • Development of timely and relevant content supporting the paid, owned and earned channels across NF; includes blogs and tip sheets
  • Ownership of the content strategy for the planning for Health Care Costs and Longevity Pillar of content and the four educational programs that go with it: Health Care Costs, Long-term Care & Longevity Planning, Medicare, Health Savings Accounts.
  • Support for multiple versions of content to support our partner firms and channels
License / Certifications
Candidate will be required to obtain the Securities Industry Exam (SIE) and Series 6 within 120 days of employment. Exam training resources sponsored by Nationwide.

As a Consultant, you are responsible for leading and/or assisting the overall development and execution of marketing strategies using highly advanced marketing principles and standard methodologies. You will execute on future business or marketing needs driven by quantitative data/research, competitive insights and/or consumer behaviors. We'll count on you to ensure a strong focus on end-to-end customer experience, delivering outstanding customer experience overall.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitors emerging innovative trends in content, design and marketing tactics
  • Implements digital and traditional marketing tactics and media, including creative development process, planning, and execution.
  • Assists in the development and execution of strategies and plans that ensure long term sustainable growth of the business. Synthesizes data and uses this understanding to support identification and innovation of business building solutions
  • Collaborates on and/or may lead creative development, and provides feedback on look and feel. Develops creative briefs.
  • Reviews and uses customer insights and analytics and tools to understand and forecast market, competitor and customer needs and behavior, define appropriate target audiences, evaluate sufficiency, and effectively get results with data-based decisions.
  • Leads projects and processes within area of responsibility to deliver results with multiple target completion dates and shifting priorities.
  • Ensures programs are on strategy and on schedule.
May Perform Other Responsibilities As Assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager/Director/AVP. This is an individual contributor role and may have an opportunity to manage a team based on organizational structure; may also lead virtual/project teams.
Typical Skills And Experiences
Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or related field preferred. Master’s degree is a plus.
License/Certification/Designation: Technical financial services designations such as FINRA, CPCU, CLU, ChFC, FLMI considered a plus. Additional licensing may be required to hold this position; and associates will need to acquire the required Federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit. Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented. If an associate fails or is unable to acquire required licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position.
Experience: Typically eight or more years related professional experience in marketing, strategy, consulting, financial services, or related field.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: In-depth knowledge of marketing methodologies, insurance and/or financial services products, distribution systems, and customers. Knowledge of project leadership concepts and methodologies. Possesses strong verbal and written skills needed to develop and review research studies, communicate research findings, market recommendations based on findings, and maintain relationships. Ability to lead and prioritize projects. Ability to function independently or in a team environment with limited supervision. Demonstrates core marketing proficiencies, including strategy development, utilization of insights and analytics, building brand equity and developing effective marketing communications. Skilled at customer focus, operating capabilities, personal effectiveness, and strategic capabilities.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Ability to work extended and/or non standard hours based on project load. Travel as required.
