Job Description
Position Summary


We are looking for a Consultant to join Vista’s Value Creation Team (VCT) in the Go-to-Market (GTM) Practice, which serves as a trusted advisor to portfolio company leaders to achieve transformational success by improving or changing their Go to Market strategies and operations. As a Consultant on the team, you will:


  • Work with investment teams to develop investment theses to conduct GTM due diligence, and identify core value creation opportunities for new prospective investments
  • Work with VCT colleagues, investment team members, and portfolio company executives on value creation initiatives that span the different GTM functional areas of our companies (i.e., GTM Strategy, Sales, Marketing and Customer Operations)
  • Work closely with VCT colleagues, investment team members, and portfolio company executives to drive strategy and operations engagements across our portfolio companies


This role will give exposure to investment decision making, value creation and transformation and will help you gain practical experience scaling the world’s premier software/technology businesses. Former members of this team have gone on to accelerate their careers in larger leadership roles within Vista and joined companies in the Vista portfolio as operators in key strategic roles.

Qualifications


  • Experience in managing and influencing others indirectly
  • 2-3 years of management consulting, investment banking or financial services experience
  • Experience should ideally be a combination of strategy and operational/implementation
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • In addition, 1-2 years of operating experience, ideally in a role focused on GTM, Growth or Corporate Development
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to multi-task and operate independently
  • Interest in software, technology, and data enabled companies as well as GTM
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of time
  • Ability to bring structure to large, complex questions with limited guidance
