Job Description

Habitat for Humanity of High Point, Archdale and Trinity is looking for a full-time site supervisor.Successful candidates will have at least five years’ experience in hands on residential construction or training. Construction project management and subcontractor scheduling a plus.Habitat is a Christian, non-profit organization that works with low-income families and the community to provide homeowner opportunities and build stronger neighborhoods.Position is full time, salaried, benefits include health insurance, paid time off and a 401K. Summary:

Ensures on-time and on-budget completion of Habitat for Humanity of High Point, Archdale and Trinity homes by leading on site volunteers.

Essential Functions:

·Manages the construction of safe, decent, affordable housing and leading on-site construction staff and volunteers.

·Performs hands on construction task when needed.

·Responsible for seeing that homes are built in accordance with applicable building codes

·Reads and interprets building plans and specifications.

·Develops quality working relationships with subcontractors necessary for house construction.

·Ensures that safety guidelines are followed on site and that adequate training, tools and supervision is provided to construction volunteers.Ensures that all volunteers are signed in on-site, with waiver forms and that these forms returned to the Volunteer Coordinator.

·Collaborates with the Volunteer Coordinator and Director of Construction to ensure that weekly and monthly construction schedules and needs are met.

·Assist in the task of the securing of volunteers; procuring materials and ensuring efficiency in the construction process.

·Approves prospective Homeowner’s sweat equity hours on a daily basis.

·Assures quality services by being knowledgeable of and enforcing agency policies.

·Maintains professional competency by participating in field related up-to-date continued training, education and personal growth experiences.

·Promotes a positive image of Habitat for Humanity by ensuring an understanding of program services available and conducting oneself according to a professional code of ethics.

·Performs such other duties as incumbent upon the position and as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

·Skilled in detailed techniques and principles of construction, construction scheduling, and continuous improvement.

·5years construction experience or applicable education

·Experience managing volunteer-run construction programs and skilled professionals strongly preferred.

·Ability to organize projects to ensure on-time completion while utilizing a largely unskilled volunteer work force.

·Ability to effectively lead and multi-task in a fast paced environment, and work as part of a team.

·Exhibited skills in using construction machines, equipment, and specialized tools used while performing work (ex. power tools, ladders, skid steer and other construction tools and equipment).

·Current Safety/First-Aid training.

·Attention to detail and overall quality control.

·Articulates ideas clearly (both written and orally), listens accurately, and establishes personal rapport with people from a variety of backgrounds.

·Dedicated to the Habitat for Humanity mission and core values.

Scope:

·All work must comply with applicable laws and construction codes, as well as Habitat’s guidelines, policies, strategic plan and mission statement.

·All construction practices are in accordance with North Carolina Building Codes and specific municipalities building codes.

Expected Hours of Work:

Regular work week is Tuesday through Saturday.Works flexible hours in order to provide regular supervision for construction process.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

·Maintains physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities in a construction setting, which may include the following: walking, bending, stretching, lifting, climbing, working at heights, standing or sitting for extended periods of time, operating assigned equipment.

·Ability to work flexible/overtime hours, as needed.

·Work is performed on the construction site

·Requires valid NC driver’s license and ability to travel between various agency sites and community resources.
