Construction Sales Manager

Summary: Manage sales activities of organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Directs the sales development of assigned territory. Works closely with Marketing to help develop the tools needed to effectively promote the brand, products, and image. Recommends and assists in the promotion, organization and guidance of sales policies and practices in an efficient manner to maximize market penetration of products.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent sales experience.
  • Experience managing construction accounts
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • 5+ years of direct customer sales experience
  • Valid state of WI driver's license
  • Experience managing a team (directly or indirectly)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with Marketing team to develop and execute strategic marketing plans.
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with Account Managers.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Coordinate liaison between the sales department and other sales-related units.
  • Lead project strategy for contractors within region of responsibility.
  • Represent the company at trade shows.
  • Develop a pipeline for future revenue & build growth strategies & long-term sales plans.
  • Lead and motivate sales team for revenue and account growth.
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition.
  • Participate in organizational change initiatives to accommodate market and business demands.
  • Continually analyze and evaluate sales team to assure we have effective talent management practices including determining staffing needs, goal setting & performance evaluations, incentive payments, employee development programs, and succession planning.
  • Direct channel development activity and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  • Maintain excellent communications externally and internally including regular sales and monthly reports.
  • Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.
  • Develop sales plans & growth strategies & lead account managers in execution.
  • Identify new business and customer opportunities & develop strategies for supporting customers.
  • Analyze sales and expense budgets, participate in sales forecasting & budgeting processes, and identify opportunities to manage expenses & increase margins.
  • Meet with key clients, assisting Account Managers with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Review market analysis to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
