Construction Manger - Solar

Our Client:

Our client is a leading construction company in the US with a long history of excellence in the industry. With nearly 100 years of experience, they have delivered numerous high-profile projects across various sectors, including healthcare, education, sports, and entertainment. They are currently expanding their portfolio to include renewable energy, and are building out their Renewable Energy EPC division and looking for people to join their exciting projects in Michigan.

Responsibilities:

• Implement proactive pre-task safety planning for all work activities
• Effective timely resolution of conflicts and disputes to minimize delays and claims
• Supervise, coordinate and sequence contractors’ work
• Assist with development of work scopes and front end documents
• Communicate effectively with the Project Manager
• Develop site logistics plans for entire project to maximize productivity
• Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by enforcing contract requirements and limiting field changes
• Coordinate and track material deliveries
• Monitor performance and coordinate work to maintain productivity of trades, ensuring adequate manpower for work in place
• Develop and maintain complete and detailed project schedule and manage work in accordance with the schedule
• Enforce corporate safety policies on jobsite, providing key responsibility for safety compliance in the field

Requirements:

• Local market experience and subcontractor relationships
• Solar or Wind market experience highly preferred
• Strong negotiation skills to resolve field issues with subcontractor, design team and/or owner
• Minimum of 8 years of direct supervision of projects including subcontractors and/or self-perform trades
• 4-year technical/engineering degree or equivalent professional experience in the trades
