About the Role:

As a Construction Inspector, you'll have the chance to provide inspection support for the construction of roadways and related transportation projects located in the state of Minnesota. Advance your career by being exposed to a variety of inspection work on construction projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare pay estimates and maintain detailed records
  • Learn design and project review tasks with assistance of other experienced construction inspection staff, which include plan and specification constructability reviews, plan tabulation development and layouts
  • Assist with project inspection and oversight
  • Coordinate materials testing activities and perform quantity calculations and produce project record documentation.
  • Assist with private and public utility coordination activities and perform basic survey and design calculations.
  • Verify conformance with plans and specifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or bachelor's degrees in construction technology, construction management or engineering.
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules
  • Minimum of two-plus years of progressive experience including relevant experience as a Construction Inspector
  • MnDOT Field Certifications and experience with Federal and State aid documentation is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to perform work on Microstation or AutoCAD a plus.
  • Excellent technical, written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in construction inspection
