Concrete Formwork Detailer Jobs

The Formwork Detailing Specialist is responsible for the design, detailing and accuracy of McCarthy’s self-perform formwork scopes, ensuring the finalized digital formwork is fabricated successfully. The Formwork Detailing Specialist reports to Operations and collaborates with project teams, the Virtual Design and Construction team, and Yard Leadership to ensure project and regional success.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with regional VDC team on concrete geometry needed to support formwork modeling
• Designs, sequences and produces customized drawings and details for concrete forms using company forming equipment and accessories.
• Collaborate with project field teams and Superintendents, reviewing plans and specifications, to determine a formwork approach for each specific project
• Develop comprehensive material take-off, bill of material, and cut lists for formwork build up

• Verify formwork design, drawings and fabrication meet McCarthy standards of accuracy, quality, project timeliness and in a safe and economical manner

• Collaborate with Yard Leadership on logistics, productions, inventory, formwork labeling, transfer ticketing and associated shipping and delivery procedures
• Visit project sites to analyze project-specific challenges and verify formwork constructability
• Organize and maintain digital files including project files and digital formwork inventory
• Assist with projecting future needs to ensure material & equipment availability

Qualifications

• Field experience in concrete formwork a plus
• Experience in self-perform concrete construction operations and layout a plus
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents
• Ability to learn and develop new workflows and integrate new technology into daily activities
• Jobsite and regional travel required
• Self-motivated individual, organized, team player, process and detail oriented, customer service oriented, able to work in a hi-energy and deadline driven environment
• Technical school education a plus (drafting certification)
• Proven commitment to safety and building relationships with the team
• Solid communication skills including a strong command of English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Understanding of formwork cycling, stripping, repeatability and re-use
• Experience with basic computer applications including Email, Word, Excel, etc.
• 5 years of formwork drafting experience (AutoCAD, Revit)
