Computer Technician Jobs

Working at Calspan's state of the art automotive crash facility in Buffalo, New York, the Computer Technician will provide support to testing and engineering through operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining of computer hardware and software and performs basic computer programming. • Support technical documentation of test procedures and data reduction approaches.
• Maintain computer equipment and software to ensure continuous and secure operations.
• Perform setup and checkout of computing systems and data reduction during pretest activities. Provides basic guidance during these activities.
• Support testing by efficiently operating computer equipment and ensuring accurate results and records. Provides technical assistance and resolution when engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after testing.

Preferred Education / Experience

• AAS or Bachelors in related discipline
• A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
• 3+ years in related discipline or;

Preferred Knowledge / Ability

• Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment
• Microsoft Office
• Willingness to work in a physical testing environment, including setup and execution of tests
• Execute moderately complex software applications for engineering, scientific, or real-time data calculations and reduction
• Computer operations and principles including basic mathematics
• Read and understand engineering plans and specifications
