Job Description
What you can expect as a Compliance Associate at Fortress:


The Contract Associate will be an integral part of the Legal, Risk & Compliance department, offering administrative support on a part-time basis, with a cap of 20 hours per week unless otherwise approved. This role plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Legal, Risk & Compliance department, balancing a wide array of administrative and compliance-related tasks while collaborating with multiple internal departments.


This is a remote position and requires motivation to work towards agreed objectives and deliverables.


Responsibilities Include


  • Legal Administration: Assist with tasks such as documenting board approvals.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Manage the company's state registration and filing necessities. This includes keeping track of renewal dates and ensuring timely payments.
  • Training Material Preparation: Support the department in crafting training materials that align with company protocols.
  • Reporting: Aid in the creation of monthly or quarterly reports which cover aspects like department metrics, budgetary concerns, and collaborative endeavors with other departments.
  • Insurance Maintenance: Oversee and update the company's insurance records, ensuring timely renewals, accurate invoice tracking, and effective billing management.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as a link between the department and other internal stakeholders or third parties, ensuring smooth information and documentation exchange.
  • Compliance Support: Ensure that the company adheres to various compliance protocols, from industry-specific regulatory standards to internal company policies.
  • Time Management: Adhere to daily time tracking requirements, ensuring all tasks and responsibilities are accounted for.
  • Administrative Oversight: Efficiently track invoices for the department and prepare monthly budget versus actual reports.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, and effectively manage time.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications with specific emphasis on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • 0-1 years understanding of accounting and finance as it relates to financial reporting and budgeting.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
