JOB SUMMARY: Develop and implement communications strategies for the employees of the Financial Products Division (FPD) worldwide. Define, develop, implement and measure new and ongoing employee communications strategies for the division.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
1.Coordinates the integration, design and layout of key communications initiatives with the manager. Implements approved initiatives.
2.Understands the objective of each communication. Based on that understanding, determines, recommends to management, and, when approved implements the most effective method for communicating the message to employees. Creates/develops a message that is informative, timely and focuses the employee on what the new information means for them personally.
3.Creates all communications to employees of Cat Financial, including the regularly published employee newsletter, announcements on the SharePoint site, social media content, personnel announcements, video productions, facility-related information, key core process performance measure information, and personal/birthday/service anniversaries. Proposes communications strategies and planning for the Annual Employee Meetings to the manager. Implements approved strategies and plans.
4.Creates communications relating Cat Financial global offices, specifically in Europe and Latin America
5.Oversees communications related to Human Resources initiatives, including benefits, job openings/announcements, compensation, policies and procedures, employee satisfaction information, Caterpillar Inc. policies and procedures
6.Oversees the growth, governance and development of current internal business networking tools. Assists leaders with blogs, creating and monitoring content, training employees and reporting metrics. Serves as an advocate for social media tools.
7.Develops and implements communication strategies in support of key strategic initiatives in the division.
8.Gathers, monitors and communicates employee feedback to senior management. Evaluates the employee feedback. Makes recommendations for changes in communications (i.e. change format, etc.) to management. Implements approved changes.
9.Recommends and develops communications policies and procedures. Ensures that all employee communications are in compliance with existing guidelines, including Caterpillar corporate identity guidelines, established technical guidelines for presentations and web development, and the correct style and grammar as outlined by the Associated Press for writing and editing.
10.Exchanges employee stories with other Caterpillar business units.
11.Works with other Caterpillar communications personnel seeking to leverage internal communications initiatives.
12.Collaborates with suppliers to develop, produce and deliver communications vehicles (i.e., newsletters, videos, Intranet/Internet). Assists in negotiating contractual agreements with vendors. Recommends creative services/suppliers to the manager.
13.Ensures that all communications deadlines are met.
14.Participates in accomplishment of continuous improvement objectives for the department. Progress toward accomplishment of these is measured through maintenance of necessary measurements and analysis of associated data. Participates in the identification of problem areas and development of resolutions to address them.
15.Understands the Harassment policy of the company and is responsible for its application in all aspects of employment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

11.Demonstrated knowledge of event coordination.
12.Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources terminology and practices.
13.Demonstrated ability to work independently or in a group.
14.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other communications and content experts in a team environment.
15.Demonstrated ability to remain flexible in a rapidly changing situation.
16.Ability to utilize a computer for 75% of the day.
17.Ability to sit 50-75% of the workday.
18.Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time on a worldwide basis.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A 4-year college or university degree in communications, public relations or related field and a minimum of 4 years exempt experience in a Human Resources department or Communications department as a business communicator is recommended. Experience working with social media tools is preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted for education.
