Communications Specialist Jobs

Key Role:
Support the project team in developing and implementing innovative strategic communications and outreach programs and initiatives designed to engage program members, government partners, and stakeholders proactively. Implement a program-level strategic communications plan, and help determine challenges, opportunities, and needs within the client's environment and help manage expectations of communications products. Lead in the daily operations of a small team that produces graphic design, publication materials, employee communications, newsletters, and informational materials for internal or external stakeholders. Provide for copy, design, and graphics development for brochures, briefs, and other communications products, research new content to develop communication products, and confer with the project leadership team regarding complex subjects to maintain the coherence of communications products. Draft content for publication on client site and liaises across varying Task Order organizations and work activities to ensure the accuracy of communications products, communication plans, and content. Serve as writer and content manager on the client's SharePoint environment, follow all approval processes to ensure all content is cleared and approved before publishing, and draft social media using internal platforms, post content, and engage stakeholders. Coordinate the delivery of multiple project initiatives designed to enhance the services and level of support provided to the client.
Basic Qualifications:

• Experience with Poppulo or a third-party message distribution system
• Experience creating content and content planning
• Ability to gather information and synthesize it into client-ready deliverables
• 5+ years of experience in the strategic communication field, including change management, content development, and implementation planning
• Experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Mac operating systems
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
• Experience with SharePoint
• Ability to develop new communication methods to reach target audiences
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience managing teams, and writing and editing material in a journalistic style

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with military and government contracts
• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to serve as a dynamic member of the project management office and collaborate across the team
• Knowledge of the video production process
• Experience with multimedia and graphic design layouts for strategic communication products
• Ability to balance competing priorities and manage several time-sensitive projects at once in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
• Experience translating ideas and concepts into professional communication products, including talking points, PowerPoint presentations, articles, messaging to staff, and other communication products, with top executives and senior leaders

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
