Communications Game-Night Staff Jobs

The Opportunity

The Communications & Publications Game-Night Staff is responsible for assisting the Communications & Publications Staff in implementing the team’s communications efforts on game nights. This position works part-time during the preseason, regular season, and any applicable playoff season for Memphis Grizzlies home games located at FedExForum in Memphis, TN and Memphis Hustle home games located at Landers Center in Southaven, MS.

In This Role You Will

• Accurately and efficiently distribute credentials to media and guests
• Assist with press conferences in the media work room
• Record and transcribe pregame and postgame interviews with players, coaches and staff
• Other duties as assigned

The Experience You Will Bring

• Strong work ethic and organizational skills
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Knowledge of the Memphis Grizzlies, Memphis Hustle and the NBA;
• AP style knowledge and experience;
• Ability to work starting with media arrival (three hours before tip-off) for most Grizzlies home games – including nights, weekends and holidays – and work Hustle home games as appropriate;
• Reliable transportation
• Professional and personable demeanor and approach
• Ability to transcribe audio files quickly and accurately
• Minimum of one-year relevant college experience in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or other relevant major
• Ability to take constructive feedback

Nice To Have

• Working toward bachelor’s degree from an accredited college majoring in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Sports Management, or other relevant degree program.
