We are seeking a collaborative, communications expert, with excellent writing skills as a Communication & Development Specialist in our St. Louis Office for our Lighting One division. As a Development Specialist, you will create and execute communications that engage and nurture Lighting One members and future prospects, ensuring their participation in our program benefits, as well as measuring their participation. You’ll also be responsible for coordinating multiple projects supporting the Lighting One division.

Our Communication & Development Specialist will:


  • Receive and coordinate all new showroom lead opportunities, organizing all prospective member’s data within Sales Logix and communicating with prospects, which could include traveling to meet with prospect showrooms, to gauge interest and coordinate next step calls or meetings with the Lighting One team. Fiscal budget responsibility for achieving membership revenue.
  • Act as a liaison for members and facilitate matters that arise as well as perform various administrative duties, including processing invoices, billing requests, department mail, and preparing shipments when needed.
  • Create internal member communications for new programs via e-mail communications, memos, letters, handouts, reports, spreadsheets, presentations, etc.
  • Assist and participate in member and vendor-related aspects of convention planning, attendance, and on-site requirements with the convention planner and Lighting One Team.
  • Request and process showroom paperwork; new, prospect, and existing member moves or transfer of ownership, compiling and ensuring all necessary forms are included.
  • Assimilate and onboard new members into Lighting One, as well as non-engaged current members. Educate them on all Lighting One services and supplier programs, communicating how each of the services and programs will benefit their business.


Do our requirements match YOUR background?


  • Excellent writing ability, capable of preparing communications from draft, ability to interpret a variety of complex instructions and comprehend procedures, and the ability to gather data with little supervision.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or relevant work experience, plus 2-3 years communications experience.
  • Excellent analytical, time management and organizational skills including attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent computer skills (inclusive of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) are essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication ability with selling skills to support Lighting One membership growth.
