Job Description
The safe, proper, and efficient commissioning of Somic machinery at Somic facility, ensuring overall customer satisfaction. Ensures cooperation and information flow between departments such as Sales and Engineering.
Job Duties
  • Safe working habits in all facets of the job
  • Troubleshooting of mechatronics, electrical controls and mechanical
  • Serve as contact for Project Manager during commissioning
  • Operating equipment in change workshop (lathe, mills,..)
  • Ensures customer satisfaction of all services provided
  • Commissioning of machines in house
  • Field travel limited up to 20% maximum
  • Complete documentation of the machines while the commissioning process
  • PLC and HMI programming logic independently or with Engineering
  • Supporting Field Service Technician in machine specific topics
  • Complete equipment performance analysis and recommendations for improvements also at customer site
  • Professional representative of Somic with current and potential customers
  • Administrative tasks, per checklist and documentation
  • Competent and consistent communication also to other departments
Requirements
  • Functional knowledge of PLCs with ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor issues
  • Ability to work independently, with a confident manner
  • Completed Technical Degree from 2- or 4-year program in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation Technology, Robotics, Electronics or comparable
  • Rockwell required, Schneider preferred
  • Able to work under pressure and be flexible
  • Safe, structured, and reliable work approach, entrepreneurial mindset
  • Professional appearance and strong communication skills
  • 3+ years Experience in the installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of machines and systems
  • Must have a valid class D driver’s license and US Passport required
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering, control technology, pneumatics, and mechanics
  • Must be fluent in English
