Job Description
SUMMARY: The College Bound Regional Officer (CBRO) is a member of both the Washington College Access Network (WCAN) statewide team and a CSF regional team. In this role, the CBRO supports WCAN's statewide College Bound Scholarship (CBS) plan within their assigned region. This position conducts outreach to middle and high schools, school districts, and community-based practitioners in the NW Coastal region. This region serves a wide geographical area in WA State that spans counties north of King County (Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom and Island) and on the Olympic Peninsula (Jefferson, Clallam, Kitsap and Grays Harbor). This position supports schools and communities with both in-person and remote services, and consequently must live in Washington State within comfortable driving distance of the communities being served.
The CBRO provides schools and community-based practitioners with the ability to:
  • Develop notification and awareness strategies for middle school students receiving the CBS and
  • Increase awareness of WA State financial aid programs for post-secondary education and support completion of FAFSA/WASFA applications among CBS students.
  • Enhance College and Career Readiness support services to CBS students in middle and high school.
Implementation includes partnership engagement strategies such as targeted CBS trainings/workshops, CBS technical support, and the promotion of regional college access initiatives and opportunities.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
  • Support promotion of trainings, workshops and presentations.
  • Participate in community events and conversations that further engage with the CBS program and increase regional adoption of College Bound support-service strategies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Coordinate with CSF regional leadership to support strategic partnerships with district, school and community influencers for the purpose of building sustainable CBS support systems.
  • Engage with staff from schools, districts and community-based organizations to identify support, training and/or technical assistance required to adopt and integrate CBS in their schools and districts.
  • Support the maintenance and accuracy of school, district and community-based contacts (database or other system).
  • Participate in the collection, input, and fidelity of metrics/milestones and other data as required.
  • Provide direct support to assist schools with uploading addresses to the Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC) portal to assist with notifying CBS students of their enrollment into the program.
  • Share effective notification and awareness strategies for middle school students receiving the College Bound Scholarship with CSF AmeriCorps College and Career Coaches.
  • Support development and regional implementation of CSF's outreach, engagement and communications plan that effectively advances CBS scholar support through partnerships, targeted strategies and activities.
  • Partner with other regional CSF staff to promote CBS awareness. Support CSF events related to promoting college and career readiness.
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Familiarity with the communities served by the region and recent effective involvement with school and community-based practitioners preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Be a "self-starter" and have the ability to work independently while complying with all standards of the supervision personnel and relating CSF's programs and services.
  • Knowledge with college/career readiness and financial aid/paying for college.
  • Use proactive approaches to problem-solving with decision-making capability.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Familiarity with outreach strategies.
  • Ability to work remotely and use collaborative software in order to communicate with others and attend virtual meetings.
  • Experience in partnership development and implementation.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time and fluctuates throughout the year. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Skills in presenting, coaching and facilitation.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
  • An established commitment to work collaboratively and harmoniously with CSF staff, colleagues and stakeholders.
Qualifications For The Position
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience including K-12 and/or higher education, student outreach, teaching or school counseling is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.

Work Environment
Member must be able to work remotely and use collaborative software in order to communicate with others and attend virtual meetings. Employees must reside in the state of Washington. Employees must be able to handle stress that is involved in meeting strenuous customer deadlines, working in high volume areas and be flexible and able to interact with employees and students of all levels.
The College Bound Regional Officer position is remote. Employees must be comfortable with working from a home office.
