HF Rubber Machinery, Inc., a subsidiary of the HF Mixing Group, is the global leader in the manufacturing of rubber and plastic processing equipment. HFRM, based in Topeka, Kansas is looking for a CNC Machinist. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills, a positive and professional image, ability to work with all levels of employees, excellent organizational skills and be a self-starter with a high degree of self-motivation and initiative.

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and
tolerances of finished workpiece.
  • Measures, marks and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent
machining.
  • Select, align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as
mills, lathes, and surface grinder.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, angle of
cut or enters commands to retrieve input or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine
controls or control media as required.
  • Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications using precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to read machine dial gauges and precision measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of materials, availability, general characteristics, statics and stresses, machinability, heat treating and
stress relieving procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Performs CNC programming and CAM tasks on the fly at the machine.
  • Monitor machine sounds and identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.
  • Perform daily machine maintenance checks.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, present information and answer questions clearly and professionally, both verbally
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of NC controls, CAD CAM software, Microsoft Windows.
  • Two (2) year technical degree is preferred.
