Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION:

Manage the day to day planning, implementation, and problem solving to ensure the efficient daily operation of the MAC wellness clinic. In addition, the team leader will perform duties required to assist in the examination and treatment of patients, such as preparation of the patient and the environment, conducting laboratory and other testing, patient education, and clerical functions including appointment scheduling/management, analysis of wellness data, and running reports for the provider.


Works under general direction of the Clinical Coordinator and MAC Wellness provider. Orient new colleagues who provide coverage at the clinic. Identify and help resolve operational issues, staffing, assist with promotions/marketing of the clinic services, and analyze health fair and visit data for the provider.


JOB DUTIES:

  • Problem solving, answering clinical questions, monitoring quality and production outcomes. Ensure protocols and policies are being followed.
  • Schedule staff when needed and resolve staffing issues.
  • Train and orient new colleagues. Serves as a resource to other clinical staff.
  • Participate in interviewing applicants, training and orientation of new colleagues. Provide information to management for hiring decision and colleague performance evaluations.
  • Monitor and collect data for quality assurance purposes. Complete clinic statistics monthly.
  • EMR super user for the facility. Train new colleagues; trouble shoot issues with system.
  • Assist in resolution of patient charting.
  • Assist management to implement the goals and objectives of the clinic
  • Supervise maintenance of equipment and supplies
    • Maintain logs of all equipment and supplies, as necessary
    • Control purchasing of supplies and maintain adequate supply inventory
    • Maintain records of contracted services i.e. Influenza vaccines, Drug Screens and annual Wellness Clinics.

AGE APPROPRIATE CARE:

Colleague has been instructed in providing customer service and on interacting with age groups as related to the department's general client population: including use of appropriate interventions, communication and skills to match the age and/or abilities of the patient/family.


MACHINES, TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Copy machine, fax machine, Meditech, Computer software, adding machine.
  • EKG, sterilizer, BP cuffs, otoscope/ophthalmoscope, nebulizer, glucose meter.
  • Telephone System
  • Radiology equipment and reader where/if applicable.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • CPR certification or required within 3 months of hire.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be computer literate to complete task(s) as required. Such as MediTech (Hospital Support Software), Halogen (performance appraisal system) Swank (education system), ability to retrieve e-mails, complete on line enrollment for health insurance/benefits and any other programs as assigned
  • Experience in healthcare and/or wellness setting, minimum of two years

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proficient in medical equipment
  • Excellent computer and organizational skills, Excel experience preferred
  • Focus on detail and self motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Evidence of management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • In depth knowledge of current policies and procedures of the facility as well as the knowledge and use of resources necessary to maintain quality and cost efficient services.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Normal space, ventilation, and noise levels
  • Must be able to get up and down out of chair frequently throughout the shift
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand on feet for several hours
  • Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
  • Must be able to verbalize well and possess manual dexterity to write legibly
