Unified Women’s Healthcare is a company dedicated to caring for Ob-Gyn providers who care for others, be they physicians or their support staff. A team of like-minded professionals with significant business and healthcare experience, we operate with a singular mindset - great care needs great care. We take great pride in not just speaking about this but executing on it.
As a company, our mission is to be an indispensable source of business knowledge, innovation and support to the practices in our network. We are advocates for our Ob-Gyn medical affiliates – enabling them to focus solely on the practice of medicine while we focus on the business of medicine.
We are action oriented. We strategize, implement and execute – on behalf of the practices we serve.
The Clinical Operations Training and Optimization Specialist works directly with providers and clinical staff to optimize their utilization of the Practice Management System, Electronic Health Record and related workflows. This role primarily works with practices utilizing athenahealth, a cloud-based electronic medical record and practice management tool. Success in this role requires independently assessing and delivering customer specific trainings and improvements with a client service oriented mindset.
Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities and solve problems with assigned clinical practices, interacting with the Unified and athena teams as required
  • Collaborate with cross-functional areas (e.g., revenue cycle, practice performance management) to create and distribute educational materials regarding athena, clinical updates, and common issues
  • Assess opportunities and risks during and after implementation of new practices and provide a custom action plan
  • Unify standards across multiple health care practices
  • Train new care center employees on current practices and standards
  • Own strategic and operational initiatives in the market that relate to the job scope
  • Establish working relationships and collaborate with providers and office staff
  • Generate call and visit reports daily and document all division encounters on Unified site rounding sheets
  • Become a Superuser for athena. This requires advanced knowledge of the tool and practice workflows to assist in the implementation of new divisions and optimization of existing practices.
  • Assist with maintenance of user and athena configurations
  • Perform site visits to conduct outreach, education, training and orientation sessions for providers and ancillary staff
  • Plan for and participate in events such as Committee Meetings, Networking Events and Educational Sessions that may fall outside of normal business hours
  • Develop subject matter expertise in athenahealth’s core products and services, including practice management, patient engagement and the EHR. This includes attaining “Certified Unified EHR Trainer” as outlined by the Unified Clinical Operations team.
Qualifications
  • Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • 1-2 years experience with an EHR and/or Practice Management system, athena required
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and issues effectively and simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail, research and follow up skills
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable insured automobile required. Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred or experience in Healthcare IT field
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
