SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
Our Pharmacogenomics team is expanding rapidly and we're looking for people who are passionate about helping improve healthcare to join us.
We're looking for an experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist who will support high complexity laboratory testing on patient specimens across various assays and platforms. The work requires excellent attention to details, effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multitask and be flexible with tasks and schedules, and the ability to work independently in a team environment. This role requires on-site work at our Seattle location as well as ability to work overtime and off-schedule days as needed.

What you'll do:
- Review standard operating procedures (SOPs), provide input, edit, and author SOPs as assigned.
- Participate in continuing education
- Participate, collaborate, and help drive innovations and improvement activities in the laboratory
- DNA extraction of blood, buccal, and saliva samples using automated systems and perform high-throughput Pharmacogenetic testing using PCR and Mass Spectrometry.
- Identify any issues that may adversely affect the quality of test results and report these to appropriate representatives to ensure prompt resolution
- Interpretation of data-record and interprets results of all analyses, according to set procedures and guidelines.
- Champion of good laboratory practices (GLP) and good documentation practices (GDP).
- Maintain strict standards of quality
- Assist in laboratory audits by CAP, NY, ISO audits, etc.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, perform instrument verification, and escalate and help troubleshoot issues with laboratory equipment according to SOPs
- Perform quality control, quality assurance activities, and instrument correlation studies
What you bring:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required for working with internal and external teams.
- Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory studies or equivalent science related studies
- 1+ years of Molecular Genetics Laboratory experience
- Advanced laboratory skills with a solid knowledge base in Molecular Genetics which include PCR, genotyping assays, sequencing, etc.
- Ability to work full-time schedule that may include overtime, weekend days or off-schedule requests when needed.
- Certification with the American Society of Clinical Pathology Molecular Biologist MB(ASCP) or Generalist MLS(ASCP)
- The ability to work independently and with a sense of urgency, think creatively, and set and meet deadlines
- Strong laboratory skills and understanding of CAP/CLIA laboratory operations
