Job Description
Salary Range: $13.65 - $17.28 Hourly


Hiring Rate: $15.00 Hourly


Job Summary


The primary responsibilities of the hourly Clerical Assistant is to transcribe dictated police reports and enter dictated information into local and state-wide computers. Additional duties may include processing written reports, forms, and documents, verifying that necessary information is included on forms, answering the telephone, and responding to customers at front window.


Experience, Knowledge, Skills


  • Excellent communication skills and customer service;
  • Computer skills;
  • Minimum of one (1) year clerical experience;
  • Excellent organizational skills.


Essential Functions


  • Produce written documents with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentences, punctuation and grammar.
  • Prioritize and work independently;
  • Communicate effectively, in person and over the phone, with tact and diplomacy;
  • Maintain confidentiality;
  • Comprehend and make inferences from written material;


Work Environment & Physical Requirements


  • Hearing enough to understand and interpret dictated information and telephone communications.
  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment, including computer keyboard, telephone, copier, transcriber, and to access files.
  • Vision enough to perform functions of typing, filing, and reading documents.
  • Extended periods of time at fixed workstation.
  • Frequent interruptions to be expected during the average workday.
