Consistent with our service philosophy of speed, accuracy, and style, this individual performs multiple administrative processes to support the Claims Department including handling inbound telephone calls from claimants, processing invoices from medical facilities, ordering medical records, and processing lifetime membership benefits. These administrative tasks will require the individual to Interact and communicate with AAA Members, vendors, medical facilities, other business partners, and AAA Clubs.. Interactions may occur via telephone, electronically, in writing, or face to face. Also may prepare and update forms, reports, and correspondence.
Position Responsibilities
  • Import claim documentation into workflow system for historical purposes.
  • Process vendor, medical, and other related invoices for claims. .
  • Review notice of death on travel accident policies to settle whether or not a premium refund, coverage change, or new claim should be processed and forward work item to appropriate team or work queue for handling.
  • Review and processes various reports within the claims department. Reports may include reinsurance worksheet report, premium received after death report, and other reports that identify missing claim information. Contact agents via e-mail and telephone to advise them of a death claim has been reported for one of their clients’ and to notify them when the claim has been finalized.
  • Responds to general customer inquiries applying standard company letters. May also respond via telephone in some situations.
  • Processes lifetime membership benefits for surviving spouse after death claim processing has been completed.
  • For the states of California, Colorado, New York and Washington the pay scale is $31,935.00 to $47,903.00 and pay scales may vary based upon location.
  • Processes department of insurance inquiries from consumers whom are trying to locate life insurance policies for their deceased loved ones.
  • Answers incoming calls from members, agents, and beneficiaries reporting new claims; provides status to members/beneficiaries
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

Required Experience
  • Completion of LOMA281 and LOMA291 within 12 months of hire.
  • Able to perform basic mathematical calculations to include reconciliation of accounting ledgers, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
  • Able to communicate and work optimally within a diverse environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Life Insurance, HIPAA, and Privacy Act/Laws, preferred.
  • Proficient using internet based applications and Microsoft office products, specifically Word and Excel.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Experience in Customer Service, preferably in a high telephone call environment, preferred
  • Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions, multitask, and demonstrate proficient interpersonal skills
  • Able to work hours as required by business needs (may include flex scheduling, irregular hours, weekends, and holidays)
