Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Children's Book Writer with experience in script writing to join our creative team. As a self-starter and leader, you will be responsible for crafting engaging and impactful stories that resonate with young readers. In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping the minds and imaginations of children through the power of storytelling. If you possess exceptional writing skills, a deep understanding of character development, illustrations, storytelling techniques, cultural competency, and a genuine passion for mental health, we would love to hear from you. Responsibilities:

1. Create captivating and age-appropriate children's books that inspire and educate young readers.

2. Develop compelling characters that children can relate to, ensuring they evolve and grow throughout the story.

3. Write scripts for children's books, including dialogue and narrative elements, that engage and entertain readers.

4. Collaborate with illustrators to enhance the storytelling experience, ensuring seamless integration between text and visuals.

5. Demonstrate a strong understanding of cultural competency, inclusivity, and diversity, incorporating these elements into the narratives and characters.

6. Conduct thorough research on mental health topics, providing accurate and sensitive portrayals in children's literature.

7. Stay updated on industry trends, children's literature, and evolving storytelling techniques to ensure fresh and relevant content.

8. Collaborate with editors, designers, and other team members to refine and polish the final manuscripts.

9. Incorporate feedback from editors, publishers, and target audience groups to continuously improve the quality of your work.

10. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to deadlines without compromising on the quality of writing.


Qualifications:

1. Proven experience as a children's book writer, with a strong portfolio showcasing published works.

2. Demonstrated experience in script writing for various mediums, such as books, animation, or interactive media.

3. Exceptional storytelling and writing skills, with a keen ability to engage and captivate young readers.

4. Strong understanding of character development and the ability to create relatable and dynamic characters.

5. Familiarity with illustration processes and the ability to collaborate effectively with illustrators.

6. Knowledge of cultural competency and the ability to infuse diverse perspectives into storytelling.

7. Passion for mental health and the ability to address sensitive topics in a child-friendly and responsible manner.

8. Excellent research skills and the ability to provide accurate and up-to-date information in your writing.

9. Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

10. Collaborative mindset, with the ability to effectively communicate and work within a creative team.
