Job Description

Summary

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pioneers Memorial Health Care District (PMHD, the District) is accountable for the planning, directing, and managing of the current operations, future growth and program development for the organization while ensuring responsible use of fiscal, human, and physical resources. In conjunction with the Board of Directors, the CEO will develop goals and objectives for the organization using the District’s strategic plan as a guiding resource. This individual is responsible for ensuring that PMHD delivers high-quality, cost-effective care. The CEO is also charged with coordinating the development of services and facilities to fulfill the District’s mission, and in coordination with the Board, develop ongoing strategic planning.

The CEO provides strategic leadership to ensure the organization remains responsive to the communities it serves, especially in a time of continued uncertainty for the healthcare industry. The CEO remains current on industry trends, understands the big picture and uses the strengths of the organization to continue to position it for future success.


Relationships:

  • Reports to PMHD Board of Directors.
  • The CEO leads and directly supervises the Senior Leaders team which comprises of the Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief of Clinics, Chief of Logistics & Support Services, Human Resources Director, Director of Quality, Director of Marketing, and Director of Information Systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Healthcare Administration or equivalent work experience. Clinical background or experience is a plus.
  • Three years or more of experience as hospital Chief Executive Officer.
  • Knowledge and experience with Hospital Administration and California public healthcare operations and regulations.
  • Strong organizational, management, leadership, and decision-making skills, including the ability to advise on industry dynamics and participate in acquisition negotiations.
  • Demonstrated success in integrating the needs and goals of a public hospital with various stakeholders, both internal and external.

Physical/Mental Requirements:

High stress position based on full responsibility for the Health District and its operation. The position is subject to possible exposure to infectious diseases, substances, odors, hazardous materials, noise as well as hostile and emotionally upset patients, family members and members of the public. Requires frequent travel throughout the District as well as occasional overnight travel to professional meetings, etc.

Annual Salary:

Full time: $200,000.00 – $500,000.00 per year
