Assists with chargemaster preparation to ensure accuracy of the HCPCS, CPT, and revenue codes and pricing. Records all chargemaster requests received and verifies all were accurately completed in EPIC. EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
1. One (1) year of experience in chargemaster description, charge capture or coding in a hospital environment, or patient financial services
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Healthcare or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Three (3) years of experience in chargemaster description, charge capture or coding in a hospital environment, or patient financial services
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. They are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Helps to ensure all charging information including pricing, HCPCS codes and descriptions, revenue codes, CPT codes are current and compliant.
2. Assists in ensuring that the charge master is in accordance with government compliance policies and procedures, as well as third party payor needs
3. Works with revenue producing departments to ensure that all charge request forms are submitted accurately and works with IT to verify codes have been set-up appropriately.
4. Submits chargemaster requests to IT for the chargemaster team.
5. Tracks all chargemaster requests submitted to IT for completion and sends updated e-mails to the requestors.
6. Verifies all chargemaster requests are current and correct in EPIC once IT notifies the requests have been completed
7. Maintains a log of all tickets received to ensure all e-mails have been answered.
8. Conducts reviews of revenue codes and procedure related errors via workqueues.
9. Reviews procedure reports for specific facilities.
10. Assists with data analysis and queries.
11. Reviews reported data for accuracy.
12. Demonstrates technical expertise in data analytics using various systems and tools such as Microsoft Office Suite.
13. Offers assistance and support to co-workers.
14. Maintain and continually improve on technical skills needed to manipulate and analyze data. Evaluate processes to maximize and improve efficiency in daily functions.
15. Participates in educational opportunities as provided by the hospital to enhance skill related abilities.
16. Support performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
17. Other job-related duties as assigned.

1. Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
2. Ability to work well under high stress conditions
3. Ability to work independently or cooperatively as a team member
4. Ability to adapt to various workloads and assignments
5. Ability to work with multi-disciplinary groups
6. Must have reading and comprehension ability

8. Must be able to read and write legibly in English
9. Possess good oral and written communication skills
10. Ability to prioritize tasks
11. Ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
12. Must be flexible
