Character Designer Jobs

Overview:

We are a growing animation studio based in Los Angeles seeking an experienced Character Designer to create 3D models for our upcoming animated feature film based on a successful gaming IP. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in modeling and animation and have a proven track record of creating 3D assets.

Responsibilities:

• In accordance with the Director and Art Director’s vision, complete the character concept design in the early stage of the project along with the elaboration and three views in the later stage.
• Collaborate with the 3D art department to provide suggestions and feedback on character production in order to push for the highest quality.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be proficient in painting tools such as Photoshop and be able to use 3D techniques to assist design.
• More than 5 years of experience designing and modeling 3D characters for the film industry and must be familiar with the 3D character art pipeline for animated features.
• Must possess a keen perception of characters and be capable of designing and modeling various 3D characters into poses.
• Must have strong art production experience with unique views on domestic and foreign film art styles.
• Experience working as a Character Designer at an established animation studio.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in art, animation, film, games, or a related field.
• Must be familiar with the film production process and with the 3D animation production process.
• Must have a strong sense of aesthetics and can grasp different art styles. Preferred Qualifications:
