A typical day as a Certified Medical Coder:

• This position could suit you if:
• Query providers and staff to obtain information for clarification of coding and billing.
• You are flexible, detail oriented, and customer focus driven
• Abide by the standards of ethical coding and adhere to official coding guidelines.
• Code and review charges as well as data entry as applicable.Identify problem accounts with coding errors and review documentation for correction as applicable.
• You have good written and spoken communication skills
• You have a helpful attitude and calm demeanor
• Apply appropriate coding/billing guidelines on the front end to ensure clean claims to payer.
• Answer inquiries regarding coding when applicable.
• The thought of helping teammates excites you

The Must Haves:

• Current coding certification required.
• Medical coding and billing experience with E&M, ancillary and procedure coding in an office or facility setting required.
• Demonstrates knowledge and remains current regarding CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes required.
• Working knowledge of payer specific guidelines including Medicare rules and regulations required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two (2) years’ experience in billing/coding for medical practice required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
