The YMCA of South Alabama operates three branches and two program centers in Alabama. They are one of the largest human service nonprofits in the area serving youth, adults, and families with caring staff and diverse programs.

Programs
Aquatics: Each of the branches has indoor aquatic facilities with the Bounds Family Branch having both indoor and seasonal outdoor facilities. Each location offers swim lessons, water exercise, lap swimming and safety programs.
Out of School: The Bounds and North Mobile branches have the strongest After-school and day camp programs. The Snook branch is launching Day Camp in the summer of 2023 after being unable to offer it during recovery efforts and facility construction after the hurricane in 2021.
Group Exercise: Each branch offers a full array of Group Exercise Classes for adults. The Bounds Family Branch offers group exercise for individuals currently enrolled in a community program for adults with limited abilities. Silver Sneakers is also offered at each of our branches.
Each of the branches has a full-service fitness floor with a large array of equipment to serve both teens and adults.

Minimum Criteria for candidates:
- Accredited 4-year college degree.
- Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and personal values consistent with the YMCA mission.
- Minimum five years prior experience in a senior management role with a YMCA or related experience at a comparable organization with direct supervision of multiple levels of staff and employees.
- Must have the ability to develop and strengthen community relationships.
- Have the ability to develop new programs, review and enhance programs being offered or considered for both economy and the effectiveness in broadening our engagement in the communities in which we serve.
- Fiscally sound business management approach.
- Strategic planning and Fundraising experience including annual campaigns and the securing of grants.
Position Description
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Chief Executive Officer at the YMCA of South Alabama sets the strategic direction of the organization; oversees its financial stability, staffing, development and operations; and positions the Y as a community convener and collaborator to address critical social issues. The Chief Executive Officer works under the policies, directives and guidelines of the board of directors.

Hire, motivate, nurture, retain, and hold staff accountable for key objectives. Position the Y as a Vital Partner for Community Change: Serve as an ambassador for the mission, purpose, and vision for the YMCA within the community. Ensure your Y is seen as a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community by connecting all people to their potential, purpose, and each other. Salary Range: $135-150k
Benefits: Health benefits and other benefits are subject to the Employee Policies approved annually by the Board of Directors. Health, dental and vision insurance is provided at a percentage basis based on the package chosen by the employee. The CEO also receives a monthly stipend of $100 for cell phone and the Y provides the CEO with a laptop. The Y participates in the YMCA retirement plan for eligible staff at 8% contributed by the employee.
