Cdl A/B Local Reefer Driver (3372)

Indianapolis Fruit, a FreshEdge LLC company, is hiring CDL A & B Local Reefer Drivers in Indianapolis, IN. Drivers will haul freight within 400 mile radius of Indianapolis then return home; 10 hour rests will often keep drivers overnight with an immediate turn home. Drivers are out no more than one overnight at a time and are home multiple days each week.

Compensation:

• Scheduled annual increases
• Referral & Loyalty Performance Bonuses are available
• Overtime paid after 40 hours worked
• Drivers are paid an hourly rate based on your license type:
• CDL A Drivers: $29/hour; CDL B Drivers: $19/hour
• Paid via direct deposit weekly
• Average 55-60 hours a week

Home Time, Route & Schedule:

• Shift: Typically starts between 12am - 5am. Typicall workday is 12-14 hours per day. Some weekend/holiday work will be required (Everyone is off Thanksgiving & Christmas)
• Level of Touch: unload pallets using manual pallet jack; some pallet breakdown and hand unload
• Must be flexible with route changes
• Route: Routes may vary but drivers will haul freight within 400 mile radius of Indianapolis then return home. Drivers will drive throughout the Midwest surrounding the Indianapolis area. Palletized freight, dock deliveries to grocery warehouses and retail chains in IN, OH, MI, KY, IL, TN, WV
• Home Time: Out & Back runs with 10-hour rest often keeping drivers out overnight. Drivers are out no more than one overnight at a time with multiple days home each week.
• Routes can have 3-10 stops per day
• Schedule: Dispatch Monday - Saturday with schedules varying 5-6 days per week. Work week starts Sunday night / Monday morning

Equipment:

• Must be able to use a manual pallet jack / occasional hand unload
• All trucks are late models, (10-speed trucks): never older than 5-years as new inventory is always added
• Automatic
• If drivers are not in a sleeper cab, hotel accomodations will be arranged

Qualifications:

• Must be able to pass a required pre-employment drug screen
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have CDL A license
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
• Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations
• Drivers cannot have more than 6-points on their driving record at one time
• Air-brakes endorsements required
• Hiring Radius: Drivers must live within 75 miles of Indianapolis, IN or be willing to relocate for this position
• Must have 6-months of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
