Akkodis is seeking a Category Management Lead for a contract-based position with a client located in Melbourne, FL. As a Category Management Lead you will serve in a critical role within the Corporate Supply Chain organization and will be responsible for achieving strategic goals that help drive value to the organization. You will collect and analyze data, develop conclusions, and present findings that will drive robust category strategies for Electronic Components commodity.
Pay/Salary Range: $50.00 -$70.00/hr (compensation commensurates with experience)

Our client is looking for an analytical, self-driven individual who can apply his/her knowledge, experience and creativity to the category management model and strategic sourcing process using client business operating system principles. This position reports to the Category Management Director and is part of the corporate indirect materials team. Our strategic supply chain organization is focused on leveraging the companys scale and deploying best practices that achieve the best possible quality, technology, cost, and delivery for our customers.
Job Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic leadership for the selection, development, and management of preferred suppliers, and meet all cost and performance goals.
• Develop subject matter expertise of the market, industry trends, product knowledge, emerging technologies, supplier capacity / capabilities / diversity through the development and execution of RFXs, market analysis, benchmarking, supplier capability matrices and site assessments.
• Establish a strong network and foster collaboration among customers, suppliers, key internal stakeholders, and category team members.
• Develop category strategies /playbooks. Implement innovative solutions and approaches that address present and future supply chain requirements and execute that vision and multi-year sourcing strategy through strategic projects / initiatives.
• Achieve supply base rationalization goals that optimize the supply base across the organization.
• Lead negotiation of enterprise contracts with preferred suppliers to maximize benefits across our client and its affiliates. Incorporate internal customer requirements including supplier rationalization, demand management, and quality improvements.
• Meet or exceed cost improvement goals while ensuring quality, delivery and working capital objectives are met. Develop and execute cost savings projects through negotiations, should cost models, value engineering, benchmarking, eAuctions and other cost reduction methods.
• Ensure suppliers are fully engaged with efforts to drive performance improvements across all KPIs through year-over-year improvement objectives, monitoring and managing supplier performance, continuous improvement action plans, and executive business reviews.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration or a related field and a minimum of 9 years of supply chain related experience or a Master's degree and 7 years of supply chain related experience
• Experience with HR, Finance, IT Software, and/or Facilities categories, with strong focus on project management initiatives that have yielded measurable business results
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• MBA or graduate degree in related field.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Strong business acumen balanced with technical aptitude.
• Strong background in building strategic relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Understanding of contractual terms and conditions and approaches to mitigating risk.
• Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) to all levels of the organization.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret and synthesize complex data sets.
• Highly self-motivated with ability to drive positive change by team building and gaining support from people and resources across the enterprise.
• Managed large, complex project initiatives with minimal oversight or direction.
• Proficient in MS suite Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project.
