OVERVIEW

Perfetti Van Melle - one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of confectionery and chewing gum with global brands that are being enjoyed in more than 150 countries worldwide - is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Category Analyst to join our Sales Team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Category Analyst will support multiple functions of the company (Brand, Finance, Sales & Supply Chain) by providing insights related to trends in the confection category which will help make informed decisions on new items, risks & opportunities on current items, provide guidance on pricing & promotion strategy, budget inputs and assortment recommendations. This role supports sales by leveraging data sources to provide analysis that help propel the sales of our new and existing items. Additionally, the Category Analyst will expertly present insights to customers to advance PVM’s relationship and perception as a trusted partner. Specific responsibilities include:

• Develop, maintain, and report category overview and insights for Sales Quarterly Business Review, Selling Stories, Customer Visits, Sales Meetings, Broker Webcasts, Brand Health Meetings, and additional ad hoc requests.
• Responsible for Pricing/Promotion Evaluation, Sales Planning, New Distribution Tracking, and Budgeting Support.
• Responsible for Planogram evaluation and Front/Back End confection reviews.
• Support Field Sales Team with selling tools to achieve volume goals set forth by corporate.
• Responsible for selling tools to aid in selling appointments and providing new item distribution projects/builds for all new items.
• Partner and be a resource for Marketing, Supply Chain, Field Sales, Customer Planning, & Finance teams cross functionally to validate research data and goals.
• Lead and/or assist with analysis for major business initiatives, providing support to leadership teams in opportunity planning, execution, and post evaluation summaries.
• Provide sales and loyalty data by leveraging multiple data sources including Circana (IRI), Market 6, Edge, 84.51, and Extra Care.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) and ability to influence/persuade.
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Prior work experience in the CPG industry preferred.
• Relationship builder/maintainer with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and cross functionally.
• Clear understanding of business drivers and processes.
• 1+ years’ experience in Category Analysis or related field
• Expertise using Circana (IRI) and/or Nielsen data is preferred.
• BA or BS Degree required in a related field.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
