Cashier/Customer Service Jobs

SLOWS BAR BQ GRAND RAPIDS is looking for self motivated individuals to be a part of our vibrant team. The Cashier/Customer Service role is an integral part of our day to day line up, and is responsible for welcoming guests, answering the phone, ensuring guest satisfaction, and assisting third party delivery drivers with pick up orders.

Requirements

• Inform guests of current specials and/or promotions
• Communicate with fellow servers, bartenders, managers, and customers effectively and efficiently
• Interact with guest and other servers to promote a positive guest experience
• Serv Safe Certification or equivalent safe alcohol service course completion
• Maintain accurate cash drawer
• Work positively and promote a safe work environment
• Maintain appropriate portion control
• Display a positive, helpful attitude towards guests, including speaking clearly and convoying information accurately
• Perform other assigned duties as required
• Prepare accurately boxed guest orders
• Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Respond promptly and courteously to any guest request or inquiries
• Perform a variety of duties for counter service--including greeting and serving walk up guests, receiving and processing payments
• Previous guest service experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment
• Assist fellow servers/ runners as needed
• Handle food items, and beverages with care
• Attend scheduled employee meetings
• Demonstrate and prompt strong work ethics and high levels of accuracy.
• Learn, understand, and offer food and beverage menu items to guest in a timely manner
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Adhere and follow Slows Bar B Q dress code
• Always maintain positive demeanor and professionalism
• At least 18 years of age or older
