PAY: Starting at $15.00 - $15.50 per hour

POSITION: Days (7am-3pm) Full-time available

FUNCTION: A vital part of the team the Caregivers/Med Techs provide daily care to our senior residents. The Caregiver/Med Tech will function as a Resident Assistant to help our residents handle the demands of everyday life such as providing personal hygiene support. A significant part of a Resident Assistant?s job is to assist residents with their activities of daily living (dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting, transferring). The Caregiver/Med Tech will report to the Resident Services Coordinator.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CAREGIVER/ MED TECH:

REQUIREMENTS OF THE CAREGIVER/ MED TECH:

• Must pass State of Florida AHCA (Agency for Healthcare Administration) background screening.
• Must pass a criminal background check before hired.
• Attends continuing education programs required for maintenance of any professional certifications. May be offered at the community.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Freedom from illegal use of drugs.

QUALIFICATIONS TO BE A CAREGIVER/ MED TECH:

• Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral English and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary setting with residents, families, staff members, representatives of community and visitors.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Possesses the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
• Ability to analyze data, reports, business documentation and problems, and develop workable solutions and goals.
• Working knowledge of equipment used in job functions.
• Must be able to interpret written or oral programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of resident care.
• Ability to remain calm under stress.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE OF THE CAREGIER/ MED TECH:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• First aid and CPR training preferable.
• Strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal, and listening skills.
• Able to perform physical demands of the job.
• Experience working with seniors/elderly strong desired
• CNA or similar certification a plus.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Friendly, professional demeanor.
