About Youth Center
The Youth Center provides a space for youth to build connections, explore and understand their community,
and to put leadership skills into action. Through year-round programming centered on leadership
development, education, and workforce readiness in Boston and Quincy, BCNC supports youth to thrive in
school and beyond.
About The Role
The Director of Youth Program will be responsible for the youth programs in Boston and Quincy. The program
responsibilities include designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating youth leadership programs, college
access programs, youth mentoring, and teen employment. The Director will oversee the three main functions:
Grant Writing and Reporting, Program Administration including Supervision and Operations, and Program
Development and Implementation. The Director of Youth Program will report directly to the Chief Program
Officer.
What You Will Do
Grant Writing and Reporting
- Work with Development Department to write grant proposals and research funding opportunities for
- Manage program budget and finances for the youth program.
Program Administration, Supervision, and Operations
- Manage formal partnerships with external partners, such as individual schools and school districts,
- Supervision of staff, interns, and volunteers and seek professional development opportunities for staff.
- Ensure all equipment is distributed, collected, accounted for, and kept in good condition.
- Develop and maintain statistical and program forms.
- Update program staff, youth participants, and families concerning schedules, programs, and

Program Development and Implementation
- Hire, train, and manage teen employment programs year-round to support immigrant youth
- Develop and follow evaluation protocol for the programs to ensure that programming generates
- Maintain updated and relevant curriculum resources and materials that meet the needs of our youth
- Seek learning and professional development opportunities related to education and youth development
- Represent BCNC in outside coalitions and networks related to youth programming.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with youth and families.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
What We Look For
- Experience teaching and developing programs for immigrant and low-income youth to increase
- Experience and knowledge of Asian American and immigrant youth issues.
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work, education, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years + of youth program experience with all core leadership and management skills.
- Experience with grant management and reporting.
- Experience with program development, management, evaluation, and implementation.
- Bilingual (English/Chinese) is preferred.
Working Conditions
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including may require to travel local during the workday.
- Work is performed primarily in a standard work environment, including the operation of computer
equipment, and physical demands associated with a traditional work setting, e.g., walking, standing,
communicating, and other physical functions, as necessary.
