Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
The Office of Career Management at the Darla Moore School of Business invites applications for two undergraduate career coach positions. The undergraduate career coaches will help to develop and deliver innovative career education including teaching a few sections every semester of the graduation required career tools class becoming collaborative partners in career management for all undergraduate business students thus directly impacting their success in the internship and job search process. The positions provide the opportunity for one on one career coaching and support to the undergraduate business students strategizing with the students on internship and job search as well as providing key guidance on all areas of career management. The career coaches will work closely with the undergraduate academic advising team within the school, business student organizations and the University of South Carolina Career Center in order to fully integrate and implement the overall career management strategy for the students.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Student Services or related field and 3 years related experience, or bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Corporate work experience, student services management or career management. Relevant work experience, preferably in student services management or career management or knowledge of a specific business functional area is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
A collaborative management style and excellent organizational skills are essential as is background in teaching, presenting and counseling. Knowledge of the basic principles and theories of student development and educational administration is desired. The employee must have excellent organizational/planning, communication/interpersonal, decision making and supervisory skills.
