Buyer and Inventory Coordinator


Near Earth Autonomy is seeking a Buyer and Inventory Coordinator to support engineering and operations. This role is part of the Product Operations group and will manage vendor relationships, purchase order process, purchasing-related tasks, shipping and receiving, and inventory.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage vendor relationships and support development of new vendors as required.
  • Ensure all purchase orders are processed for month-end closing and provide the proper documentation the Finance group needs to execute its accounting functions.
  • Actively participate in developing, tracking, and completing cost reduction and efficiency improvement activities.
  • Manage the shipping and receiving process.
  • Manage and monitor inventory levels to minimize inventory value and holding costs while ensuring necessary part availability.
  • Purchase and negotiate costs for equipment, materials, and supplies; support purchasing across the company, primarily supporting engineering and production.
  • Evaluate supplier quotes for materials and services to determine the most desirable suppliers.
  • Communicate material specifications with suppliers; ensure ordering parameters and on-time delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to drive performance in quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Coordinate with technical staff to understand the hardware needs to support projects; source hardware and robotic components for projects.
  • Perform routine incoming inspection of materials.
  • Manage the purchase order process, including appropriate documentation and approval; resolve related issues.


Qualifications And Skills


  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with little supervision.
  • Experience with purchasing electrical, mechanical, and optical device materials.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace, Google Docs, and Google Sheets.
  • Experience with ERP, accounting, and purchasing software; Fishbowl and QuickBooks experience is strongly preferred.
  • Interest in and ability to improve the integration of our current systems with a view to support the implementation of a full ERP in the future.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Associate’s or Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience desired.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
