About The Role


As an Operations Support Specialist supporting our Federal government client, you will be trusted to support all activities and efforts related to business operations managed and executed by the Staff Director. In this role, you will support the evaluation, analysis, and development of policies, processes, and recommended business operations solutions.


Key Responsibilities Include (but Not Limited To)


  • Providing recommendations for business operation changes leading to increased efficiency for the staff.
  • Coordinating and managing the logistics for OIC’s Bi-annual Leadership Offsite and other in-person meetings.
  • Providing timely input to reports, responses to inquiries, and development of client-driven requirements and deliverables.
  • Developing and coordinating support staffing plan; communicating goals, messaging, and metrics of success for the execution of the event and for the content of the event.
  • Supporting workforce development and training initiatives.
  • Managing and reconciling meeting/engagement expenditures; integrating data into ROI metrics analysis and lessons learned.
  • Carry out our Commitments to Deliver, Grow, and Thrive
  • Working with key partners to ensure all external meetings and events follow DHS processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Analyzing and interpreting large amounts of program output data and information associated with Division accomplishments and measurable impacts.
  • Supporting the creation and development of the client's knowledge management initiative.
  • Conducting market research to maximize impact and minimize costs; manage deadlines and promote desired outcomes.
  • Assisting with the identification of programmatic strengths and weaknesses.
  • Supporting the development and execution of priorities, goals, and objectives.
  • Developing appropriate presentations, and white papers in support of business operations activities, as requested.
  • Assisting in the development of requirements and mission analyses.
  • Developing templates, process flow, and standard operating procedures that can be used to execute future events and engagements.
  • Supporting the development of future priorities.
  • Providing oversight, management, and development of records management and knowledge management processes.


Location:


You will work as part of a hybrid team in the Washington, DC metro area. Remote work may be an option.


Required Experience/Skills:
  • Must have an active SECRET security clearance
  • A Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience
  • A Master’s Degree and 5 years of experience may substituted in lieu of 7 years of experience
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and provide proposals and recommendations on processes and initiatives undertaken by the federal staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Must have previous event planning experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading/managing a team to ensure a balanced workload.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating internal strategic all-hands communications and events


Preferred Experience/Skills:
  • Previous experience supporting the Department of Homeland Security
