Job Description
OUR IMPACT

GridStor is a rapidly growing, grid-scale energy storage developer, owner, and operator backed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management (“GSAM”) and led by experienced clean energy industry professionals. We acquire, develop and operate stand-alone battery storage projects in markets across North America. GridStor is based in Portland, Oregon.

Overview

GridStor is seeking a Business Operations Analyst/Associate to support various commercial aspects of the company – M&A, Power Marketing, and Business Operations - to execute against business-critical goals. This role will provide significant exposure to commercial and strategic efforts in the growing battery energy storage sector and be a key team member supporting project acquisition and power marketing transactions. Additionally, as part of a high-growth startup, you will support multiple strategic initiatives and grow into increased responsibilities as the business needs change.

Responsibilities

  • Manage key initiatives, working with relevant stakeholders in M&A, Power Marketing, and Business Operations teams to define success, drive execution, and measure progress.
  • Help customize and maintain project management systems, dashboards, and reporting processes to enable our teams to better understand business performance, progress toward our goals, and plan for the future
  • Help coordinate the company’s ESG reporting efforts
  • Support live transactions in M&A and Power Marketing teams, including deal diligence, consultant engagement, project management, analysis, and presentation development
  • Support development and management of transaction documents and contracts, including NDAs, RFPs, term sheets, and definitive documentation
  • Provide strategic support to senior leadership – e.g., business reviews, board and investor materials, all-hands meetings, and other ad hoc projects.
  • Develop compelling, synthesized recommendations and persuasively communicate recommendations to senior-level executives
  • Support strategic messaging, including periodic updates of digital assets

Qualifications

  • Experience or familiarity with the renewable energy or energy transition sector
  • 3-5 years of experience with financial analysis in management consulting, renewable energy development, investment banking, power marketing, or related experience; experience at an early-stage or high-growth company a plus
  • Exceptional Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization skills; SQL and dashboard creation proficiency preferred
  • A strong bias for using data to support decision-making and establish priorities/strategies; ability to interpret and translate data into actionable insights for a range of stakeholders
  • Exceptional attention to detail while keeping strategic priorities top of mind
  • Strong business judgment, problem solving, and critical thinking skills; experience with helping companies identify strategic improvements in their core business and implementing those improvements
  • A self-starter with a bias for action; comfortable with ambiguity and change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to build consensus across stakeholders
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and being able to execute complex projects under tight deadlines

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Generous paid leave
  • HSA/FSA for participating employees
  • Cellphone reimbursement, hybrid work environment, healthy snacks, volunteer opportunities, company outs, etc.
  • 401(k) plan with company match and immediate vesting
  • Continuing education and professional development
  • Employee participation in Long Term Incentive Plan
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, including coverage for domestic partners and eligible domestic partner children
  • GridStor offers an attractive Total Rewards package, including:
  • Competitive base salaries commensurate with experience with an annual cash bonus (based on Company and individual performance)
